Embroidered Wool Tailored Coat

This coat has a regular fit and a mid-thigh length, with a notch lapel and a single-breasted front fastened with three horn buttons. Made from Hainsworth's RAF Blue barathea, a merino wool 400gsm cloth with a closely woven, slightly textured surface, and is fully lined in black viscose. The under collar is a light heather grey wool melton. There are two flap pockets at the hips and one internal pocket, with a single vent at the centre back. Each cuff carries five real horn buttons.

Each circle is embroidered by hand in black thread, inspired by Japanese kantha stitching. No two circles are quite the same. RAF Blue is the colour Hainsworth proposed to the Royal Air Force in 1918, and the cloth is woven at their mill in Yorkshire.
