This coat has a regular fit and a mid-thigh length, with a notch lapel and a two-button single-breasted front. Made from tailoring flax canvas- the cloth normally hidden inside a jacket to give it structure. The coat is half lined in navy cotton poplin, with all the internal seams bound. The under collar is made with navy wool melton. There are two flap pockets at the hips, and each cuff carries four buttons. All the buttons are real horn.
The print was designed by Renée Bedell, inspired by the folded booklets in which the Miao people keep their needles and thread. A repeating geometric pattern of diamonds and stars in deep blue covers the whole coat against a pale blue ground. The print is screen printed on the canvas.
Printed in a small print studio in London and made in England.
